I recently got an invite to a beta that I signed up for a few months ago. I excitedly joined the platform, and here are my takeaways so far, and also some information about what I’ve got going on. The platform is still in the developmental process but looks promising so far. Although, I wish there was a way to search for the tags and different genres.
I am in the process of putting my novella “Contrary Mortals” on the platform. I am going to post one chapter a week. There will be a $2 subscription fee, which will give you access to four chapters a month. I may also post more than one chapter in a week in celebration of subscriber milestones. For example, when there are 20 subscribers, I will release two chapters the following week.
Currently, I have a book on there that will have two or three parts added a week about anxiety. There will be poems and microfiction about my experiences with anxiety. This will be like a podcast written through fictional verse. I started this sequel as a $5 a month subscription to try it out.
This site has great potential as a serial release publishing site. As a reader, I would like to be able to search for different genres. I enjoy the site’s layout and am looking forward to all the new stories there are waiting to be found. As a writer, I am incredibly excited about this opportunity to gather readers and introduce them to my characters every week. I have a few new ideas in the works. The more readers I get, the more stories I will be able to create. I am also enjoying thinking up creative ways to entice readers to subscribe, like celebration milestones. This is just the beginning, but I feel like this is the beginning of a slightly more optimistic future. I just can’t let go of my pessimism. I’m a half-empty type of person, hoping to be more like a half-full type of person one day. 🙂
