The Anxiety of Waiting

We wait
With bated breath
Watching
The numbers
Slowly rolling in
The numbers
That determine
Our future
There are no
Exuberant shouts
Of joy yet
As we wait
For all the votes
To be counted
In a race for our future
Death waits and watches
As do the horsemen
For one slip up

Another poem I wrote for VSS365 on Twitter today. The word prompt is exuberantly.
