Wings of Change

Diana was stuck. Who should she choose? She eyed the ballot.

“Hurry up, girl. The voting tree will sink to the underworld soon.”

She ignored the voice, stretching out her wings as a shield.

This was the first time a human had been on the ballot to be the Fairy King. Times were changing. She checked the box next to the purple crystal.

“Finally,” someone muttered behind her.

She ran away from the stares and the heated sighs. Her wings grabbing up pockets of wind as she soared high above the voting tree.

“I voted for a human,” she yelled.
